The book I chose was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which is the final and 7th book of the Harry Potter series. We start out with Harry's leaving the Dursley's for the last time, we get death almost directly after that and then Harry is at what he has always considered his home, The Burrow, with his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. They plan an escape to go hunt down the rest of the Horecux's and are stopped by the Wedding of Ron's eldest brother. This get raided after the Ministry falls to the hands of the Death Eaters and Harry, Ron and Hermione barely escape into a safe place. From here, they travel around the country to find the final Horecuxs and encounter many different forms of difficult magick as well as what seems at points to be there most difficult enemy, one another. They also deal with the past, which is affecting there current reality and the protecting the future. They also discover the legend of  the Deathly Hallows, three magickal relics that can beat death, raise the dead and make the owner unstoppable. They find out this is what Voldemort is searching for and eventually end up at Hogwarts. A great battle ensues and we see more death and fear.

I chose it because I have ALWAYS loved the Harry Potter series, it is one of the few books I ever truly couldn't wait for the next installment and have read over and over again. I can't even count the number of times I have read all of these books. I've read them so many times I have never once lost a trivia contest at a midnight release party and I am also undefeated in the board game.

Another reason I love these books is because of the author, J.K. Rowling who has one of the most interesting rags to riches stories I have ever heard of. She also, despite obviously making hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars, gives back to her community, remembering what it was like to be a single mother living out of her car. Her final Harry Potter publication, "The Tales of Beetle Bard." was originally not meant to be given to the public at all. She gave six handwritten copies to those who were most involved and auctioned off a seventh one, with donations going to The Children's Voice. When the book was mass released to the public, she then gave the profits from those sales to Children's High Level Group.

These books have always been worth reading for me, no matter how old I get or how many times I read them I find myself discovering new things and different layers every time I read them. When I was told to just pick one book I found myself struggling to simply pick one of these amazing books. However, this book I felt held a special place in my heart as it prevented my homesickness while I was away in Japan.
